أَعْظِمْ بِهِ مِنْ حَاكِمٍ و دَاهِيَهْ

مِنْ السِّنِينِ أُثْبِتَتْ يَقِيْنَـا(3)

سِيَاسَةٌ يَحْكُمُ فِيها مُتْقَنَهْ(5)

وكانَ مُسْتَهَلُّـهُ مُعَاوِيَـهْ
بَقِيْ في الخِلافَةِ عِشْرِيْنَـا ومَاتَ

عَنْ خمسٍ وسَبْعِينَ سَنَهْ(4)​

(1) He is Mu'awiyah, the son of Abli Sufyin Sakhr-b-Harb-b-IJmayyah-b-A'bdi's Shams-b-A'bd. Manaf-b-Kusayy alUmawiy—Abu A'bdu'r Rahman,

(2) He Received succession - as previously mentioned - After the treaty with al Hassan bin Ali in the 25th of Rabi Al-Awaal in the year 41 A.H. (The completed history 3/272).

And died in Damascus in the 15th of Rajab, in the year 60 A.H. some mentioned in the 22nd of the same month ((The completed history 3/369).

(3) His- Mulk-his regime was nineteen years , three months and twenty-seven days (The completed history 3/369).

(4) His age  when died was 75 years old, while some said 73 years old and others told 78 years or 85 years (The completed history 3/369).

(5)  Shaiykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah  said (briefly): Mu'awiyah showed  being a Muslim more  than others, he took over authority for  forty Years ,twenty years of it he acted as a deputy for  Omar and Othman, with what  he was performing in the succession of Ali may Allah be pleased with him, and  he was commandeered for the reset twenty years. He also took over the leadership of Muslims in the year 60 A.H. after the death of Prophet Muhammad  when Al-Hassan bin Ali handed him the supreme power in the year 40 A.H. the year that was called (Aam alJama'ah ) when the people gathered and agreed to recognize Mu'awiyah as Caliph after Ali and the ending  of the political division among Muslims -Al-fitnah.

What Al- Hassan may Allah be pleased with him did as the treaty for Mu'awiyah , was  complimented by our Prophet Muhammad  as confirmed by the narration in Saheeh Al-Bukhari:

(The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to al-Hasan ibn Ali. This son of mine is a Sayyid (chief), and I hope Allah may reconcile two parties of my community by means of him. Hammad's version has: And perhaps Allah may reconcile two large parties of Muslims by means of him).

As our prophet Muhammad   complimented on his son Al-Hassan that played a great rule as Allah has plotted him for to reform between two great communities of Muslim ,as both parties moved to fight against each other with two great armies and  leaving the combat is to  Allah (SWT) better than the killing that Allah was not commanding to be done . Even if Muawiya was Infidel, and the inauguration and handing what Allah and his prophet ordered us to do to infidel was not allowed. But the hadith indicated that Muawiya and  his companions were believers, as al-hassan and his companions also was Hassan was commendable by Allah and his prophet ,  .  Islamic Scholars agreed that Muawiya was the best kings of this nation. .as the previous Caliphs were the Successors of prophecy, and he was the first king (mulk)  ,his reign was authority and mercy as shown in the hadith  Then (thumma)  there will be the Khilafah upon the way of the Prophethood (‘ala minhaj al-nabuwwah) and it will continue as long as Allah wills it to continue and then he will remove it when He intends to remove it. Then there will be a harsh rule (mulkan ‘addan)  and it will continue as long as Allah wills it to continue and then he will remove it when He intends to remove it. And then there will be a coercive rule (mulkan jabriyyatan) and it will continue as long as Allah wills it to continue and then he will remove it when He intends to remove it. Then there will be the Khilafah upon the way of the Prophethood (‘ala minhaj al-nabuwwah) as his reign was a model of compassion, insight, benefits of the Muslims and better than other who ruled after him.

Who came before him ,were the successors of the prophecy, It has been bare witness to The Prophet, peace be upon him, he said : (( The Prophecy succession will last for thirty years, and then  it will become a kingdom ) as Abu Bakr , Umar, Uthman,  and Ali, Allah blessed them: they were the rightly guided caliphs and the sensible imams ,those who our prophet Muhammad  said about them : ‘I advise you to fear Allaah and to hear and obey even if an Abyssinian slave were to rule over you. For surely, he who lives from amongst you will see much differing, so it is upon you to be upon my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. Bite on to it with your back molar teeth and beware of newly invented matters, for verily, every newly invented matter is an innovation, and all innovation is misguidance.’” (Fatawa 4 / 466-480).
