مُبَايَعَاً على جَمِيْلِ المَسْلَكِ

خمسٌ و أَرْبَعُونَ ذَاكَ عُمْرُهُ(4)

إِذْ قَتَّلَ القُوَّادَ والأَبْطَالاْ(5)

قَامَ سُلَيْمَانُ بنُ عَبْـدِالمَلِـكِ وسنَتَانِ وشُهُورٍ حُكْمُـهُ(3)
وقَدْ أَتَى بِحُكْمِهِ ضَلالاْ

Obverse.

engraved  :  None has the right to be worshipped except Allah and Muhammad his messenger .He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad  ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions.                                     

Reverse.

Engraved: "He is Allah, (the) One. "Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). "He begets not, nor was He begotten.

Footnote: By the name of Allah, this Dinar was mint in the year 98 A.H.

(1) He is Suleiman Bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan bin Hakam bin Abu al-Aas bin Umayya bin Shams bin Abd mnav.

(2) He assumed the Caliphate according to the covenant of his father in succession to his brother, ALWalid when he was in Al-Ramlah  in Jumada'l Akhirah in the year of 96a.h .

 

He died, in Friday the 10th of Safar in the year 99a.h (The completed history 4 / 240,291), (AL Bedaiah w  AlNehaia 9/183).

 

(3) His succession was two years , eight months And five days . (The completed history 4 / 240,291) (AL Bedaiah w  AlNehaia 9/183).

 

(4) Ibn Kathir said, and they told - means audience (The juristic schools of thought) –that his age exceeded forty three, he said, by three or five. (AL Bedaiah w  AlNehaia 9/183).
