مَنْ قَدْ دَعَا لِلثَّأْرِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَاْ
بَعْدَ ثَلاثٍ ثم سِتِّينَ سَنَهْ(3)
يَقْضِيْ بما تَأْمُرُهُ حمِيَّتُهْ​

(1) He is Marwan I- ibn Abi al-Aas bin Umayya bin Abd Shams Ibn Abd Manaf al-Qurashi Umayyad.  He was accepted as Sahaba generally by Islamic scholarly consensus as he was born in the time of our prophet Muhammad,  .  Narrated of him in the hadith Hudaibiya  as he was mentioned by Ibn Saad in the first class of followers.( Albedaiah w Alnehaiah 8/257).

 

He was acknowledged Calipha in the third of Dhul Qadah in the year 64 A.H.(The completed History 4/480) and said it was Monday the 15th of Dhul Qadah in the year 64 A.H .( Albedaiah w Alnehaiah 8/259).

 

He was murdered in the third of Ramadan in the year of 65 A.H.( Albedaiah w Alnehaiah 8/260).

 

(2) The reason for his death was that Muawiya II, When he was at the point of death, he did not appoint a successor and Hassan ibn Bhdl wanted to makes it after him in his brother Khalid bin Yazid who was young and Hassan was the uncle of his father Yazid ,so he gave the oath –ALBaya’a to Marwan Hassan Ibn al-Hakam aiming to  make it after to  Khalid and  he did it joined by the Levant . then some said to Marwan  : Marry Um Khalid, the daughter of Abi Hashim bin Outba to minimize  the importance of his position and stop looking  for the succession ,he married her , then one day Khalid entered to Marwan  and with him a group, while he was walking between two rows when Marwan said: I swear to Allah that you are idiot ,son of a …… and he insulted his mother for the purpose of insulting him and for the people of The Levant to see him small ,Khalid returned back to his mother and told her what happened, she told him to not told anyone about it and she will digress him from Khalid .Marwan entered at her house and said: did Khalid told you anything ? She answered: No!! He is respecting you more than to say anything bad about you .He believed her and stayed several days until one day while he was sleeping in her home she covered him and killed him by a billow (The completed History 4/13-14 )(ALBedaiay w alNehaia 8/257) . 

 

(3) Marwan was killed in Damascus in age sixty three years old and said 61 years old.

 

Abdul Malik wanted to kill the mother of Khalid but they told him: people will say women killed your father so he left her. (The completed History 4/14 ) )(ALBedaiay w alNehaia 8/260) . 

 

(4) His reigned lasted for nine months and said nine months and 27 days (ALBedaiay w alNehaia 8/257).
