(1) He is A'li the son of Abu Talib. The name of Abu Talib was A'bd Mandf, the son of Abdu'l Muttalib, whose name was Shaybah, the son of Hashim. Hashim's name was A'mr, son of A'bd Manaf, and the latter's name, al Mughirah, the son of Kusayy, whose name was Zayd-b..Kilab-b-Murrah-b-Kaa'b-b-Luayy-b-Ghalib-b-Fikr-b-Malik-b-Nadr-b-Kananah. He was called Abu'l Hasan, and Abu Turab, which names that the prophet Muhammad, gave him as surnames (A). He was the first and only Caliph of Banu Hashim with both parents from Bani Hashim ,and the father of the two grandsons of Muhammad. Then his son ALHassan who was the same followed by and Mohammed Al-Ameen the son of Haroon Al-Rashid and the mother Zubaida the daughter of Jaafar AlMansour . (That completed History 3/262) (Tarikh AlKulafa ,The History of Calipha 166 ) (AlSira AlNabawiah W Akhbar Alkhulafa 521 ) .
(2) The allegiance was sworn to A'li may Allah be pleased with him on as Caliph, the day after the murder of Othman, at Medina, Friday the 25th of Dhul Al Hijjah in the 35 AH,. (The completed History 2/475)( Tarikh AlKulafa - History of Calipha 174 ) .
His murder may Allah be pleased with him - most likely – was in the month of Ramadan in the year 47 AH. (The completed History 3/254))(Tarikh AlKulafa, The History of Calipha 175 ) (AlSira AlNabawiah W Akhbar Alkhulafa 551) (Tarkh Khalifa Bin Khaiat 198). The details of Ali Fitna is written in a good description in (AlSira AlNabawiah W Akhbar Alkhulafa 521-551
(3) His reign may Allah be pleased with him - most likely- lasted four years and nine months. (The completed History 3/261)) Others said 4 years and 3 months (AlSira AlNabawiah W Akhbar Alkhulafa 552 ).
(4) The reason and the story behind his death was that , A'bdu'r Rahman-b-Muljam al Muradi loved a woman of the Schismatics in the year A. H. 40. called Katam. He married her and assigned for her dowry three thousand dirhams and the slaying of A'li. Then Ibn Muljam arrived at Kufah, and met his companions of the schematics, but he concealed from them what they intended to do on the night of Friday the 17th of Ramadan of the year 40 A.H..
.' Upon this Ibn u'l Nabbah the Muaddin entered, and exclaimed, ' to prayers,' and A'li went forth from the door crying out, ' O people—to prayers—to prayers' and Ibn Muljam came before him, and smote him with a sword, and it struck the top of his forehead and reached his brain. Then the people rushed upon him from every side, and seized and bound him. Then b-Muljam kept saying to people: Beware the sword is poisoned and it will poison him only one month then they took him to his house and then entered bMuljam to his room when Umm Kulthum Ali’s daughter said to him : Oh enemy of Allah ! you killed the Emir of the Believers! He said, however, I just killed your father, she said: I hope I make it clear to the Emir of the Believers and he will not be harmed b-Muljam said: why are you crying then , I poisoned him only one month .Ali said: then take him to jail , if I lived An amnesty or punishment to him and if I died kill him and Allah will take my revenge .
A'li lingered Friday and Saturday, and died on Saturday night (2lst January 661) and al Hasan, al Husayn and A'bdu'llah-b-Jaa'far bathed him, and al Hasan read prayers over him, and he was buried in the night in the palace at Klifah. The limbs of Ibn Muljam were cut off, and he was put into an osier basket and burnt in the fire." (AlSira AlNabawiah W Akhbar Alkhulafa 551-552) ))(Tarikh AlKulafa, The History of Calipha 174-176 )
(5) Ali b-abi Talib age was –most likely –sixty three years old when died (The completed History 3/261 ) ))(Tarikh AlKulafa, The History of Calipha 176 ) (Khalifa Bin Khyiat history 199 ) .
The Fitna in his era was the most horrible, and was an extension of Fitna that lead to the killing of Othman may Allah be pleased with him, even Muslims met In several battles and killed each other .
Let's start the discussion on the second Fitna as we started talking about the Fitna of Othman may Allah be pleased with him. I would say that prophet Muhammad, talked regarding this Fitna in many of his Hadiths and told that Al-Haqq -The Truth- will be with the winners, who belongs to them a man with a hand like a nipple. And Ammar will be killed by the oppressive (which means he will be among people how did the right - Al-Haqq people). The Hadiths about the virtues of Ali bin Abi Talib may allah be pleased with him is a lot I will mention some of it in the following
Sahih Muslim (2417 ) Abu Huraira reported:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was upon the mountain of Hira, ' and there were along with him Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman. 'Ali, Talha, 'Zubair, that the mountain stirred; thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Be calm, there is none upon you but a Prophet, a Fiddle (the testifier of truth) and a Martyr
Sahih ALBukhari in the virtues (3706 ) And narrated Sad:
That the Prophet (ﷺ) said to 'Ali, "Will you not be pleased from this that you are to me like Aaron was to Moses?" this Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 233, p 124).
Jami` at-Tirmidhi in the virtues (3713) Narrated Abu Sarihah, or Zaid bin Arqam - Shu'bah had doubt:
from the Prophet (ﷺ): "For whomever I am his Mawla then 'Ali is his Mawla." . Abu Eissa Said this Hadith is This Hadith is hasan and scarce and considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 232, p 124).
Sahih al-Bukhariin the virtues of AlSahaba (3610 ) Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
While we were with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who was distributing (i.e. some property), there came Dhu-l- Khuwaisira, a man from the tribe of Bani Tamim and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Do Justice." The Prophet said, "Woe to you! Who could do justice if I did not? I would be a desperate loser if I did not do justice." `Umar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Allow me to chop his head off." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Leave him, for he has companions who pray and fast in such a way that you will consider your fasting negligible in comparison to theirs. They recite Qur'an but it does not go beyond their throats (i.e. they do not act on it) and they will desert Islam as an arrow goes through a victim's body, so that the hunter, on looking at the arrow's blade, would see nothing on it; he would look at its Risaf and see nothing: he would look at its Na,di and see nothing, and he would look at its Qudhadh ( 1 ) and see nothing (neither meat nor blood), for the arrow has been too fast even for the blood and excretions to smear. The sign by which they will be recognized is that among them there will be a black man, one of whose arms will resemble a woman's breast or a lump of meat moving loosely. Those people will appear when there will be differences amongst the people." I testify that I heard this narration from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I testify that `Ali bin Abi Talib fought with such people, and I was in his company. He ordered that the man (described by the Prophet (ﷺ) ) should be looked for. The man was brought and I looked at him and noticed that he looked exactly as the Prophet (ﷺ) had described him. This Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 19, p 34).
Shih Muslim in the book of Zakat (1066f ) 'Abida narrated from 'Ali that he made a mention of the Khawarij (and in this connection) said that there would be a person among them with a defective hand (or with a short hand) or a fleshy hand. If you were to exercise restraint, I would tell you what Allah has promised to those who would kill them on the order of Muhammad (ﷺ). I (the narrator) said to him:
Did you hear it from Muhammad (ﷺ)? He (Hadrat 'Ali) said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah; Yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah; yes, by the Lord of the Ka'bah. This Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 19, p 34).
Shih Muslim in the book of Zakat (1066g ) 'Ubaidullah b. Abu Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said:
When Haruria (the Khawarij) set out and as he was with 'Ali b. Abu Talib (Allah be pleased with him) they said, "There is no command but that of Allah." Upon this 'Ali said: The statement is true but it is intentionally applied (to support) a wrong (cause). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) described their characteristics and I found these characteristics in them. They state the truth with their tongue, but it does not go beyond this part of their bodies (and the narrator pointed towards his throat). The most hateful among the creation of Allah is one black man among them (Khawarij). One of his hand is like the teat of a goat or the nipple of the breast. When 'Ali b. Abu Talib (Allah be pleased with him) killed them, he said: Search (for his dead body). They searched for him, but they did not find it (his dead body). Upon this he said: Go (and search for him). By Allah, neither I have spoken a lie nor has the lie been spoken to me. 'Ali said this twice and thrice. They then found him (the dead body) in a rain. They brought (his dead) body till they placed it before him (Hadrat 'Ali). 'Ubaidullah said: And, I was present at (that place) when this happened and when 'Ali said about them. A person narrated to me from Ibn Hanain that he said: I saw that black man. This Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 19, p 34).
Shih Muslim in the book of Zakat (1065 ) Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
There would be two groups in my Ummah, and there would emerge another group (seceding itself from both of them), and the party nearer to the truth among the two would kill them (the group of the Khawarij). And other one It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
"A group will secede at a time of division among the people, and they will be killed by the group that is closer to the truth." And the other version of the Hadith in Sahih Muslim
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that a group (Khawarij) would emerge from the different parties (the party of Hadrat 'Ali and the party of Amir Mu'awiya), the group nearer the truth between the two would kill them. This Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 19, p 3
Shih ALBukhari in the book of Prayers (447 ) Narrated `Ikrima:
Ibn `Abbas said to me and to his son `Ali, "Go to Abu Sa`id and listen to what he narrates." So we went and found him in a garden looking after it. He picked up his Rida', wore it and sat down and started narrating till the topic of the construction of the mosque reached. He said, "We were carrying one adobe at a time while `Ammar was carrying two. The Prophet (ﷺ) saw him and started removing the dust from his body and said, "May Allah be Merciful to `Ammar. He will be inviting them (i.e. his murderers, the rebellious group) to Paradise and they will invite him to Hell-fire." `Ammar said, "I seek refuge with Allah from affliction." This Hadith is considered a continuously recurrent Hadith or mutawatir,(or a ‘successive’ narration ( Nadim Almotanasir No. 237, p 126).
14
They went out to Basra calling it with the people. When Ali knew he went to get them when the famous Al-Camel battle took place and turning out in 'Ali's favour were slain Talhah and az Zubayr and others, and the slain amounted. they are the group who requested the blood of Othman (to assassinate him) with agreement. After this Ali sent to Mu'awiyah-b-A'bi Sufyan and asked him to pledge allegiance to him. He and those who were with him in Syria, rose against Ali , reminded Ali that Othman was killed Unjustly and he is the only who must hasten to reprisals against those who killed him asking permission to revenge for Othman by himself then he will pledge allegiance to him , the news reached A'li who sent to him to do as the people did and refer people to their ruler for judgment. (B). But when it came too long Ali asked the people of Iraq to fight the people of Syria, and marched forth and they met at Siffin in Safar of the year 37. The engagement lasted for days, and the men of Syria lifted up the Qurans on the points of their lances demanding their rights therein contained, a stratagem of A'mr-b-u'l Aas..
A lot of people with Ali left the battle and protested especially the readers from a religion point of view, as Almighty spoke: ( Have you not seen those who have been given a portion of the Scripture? They are being invited to the Book of Allah to settle their dispute, then a party of them turns away, and they are averse) and they wrote to the Syrians in this asking them to send two arbitrators from each party A'li appointed Abu Musa al Asha'ri, and Mu'awiyah, A'mr-b-u'l A'as. And they wrote between them a document to the effect that they should meet
at the beginning of the year al Adruh, and consider concerning the government of the nation. The people then separated and Mu'awiyah returned to Syria and A'li to Kufah. Then there arose against ( ALKhawarij) him schismatic from among his companions and those that were with him, and they said, “judgment belongs only to God," and they encamped at Haroraa . They said they were 8000 , others said they are more than 10000 who were called later ALhororiya , among them their elders such as Abdullah bin ALKawaa Alyashkari and shabth AlTamemi .
A'li sent to them Ibn A'bbas, and he contended with them and convinced them by argument, and a large body of them returned, but some remained firm and marched to an Nahrawan and obstructed the road, Then a rumor was spread that Ali repented from the government so they went out with him, when A'li heard that he denied and they started calling from around the mosque that the Judgment only of Allah, Ali said : He said: the right word intended to void , you have 3 rights on us : we will not forbid you from the mosques,or your livelihood from pillage and we will not start fighting you unless you made corruption ,so they started going out one by one until they gathered in ALMadaien . Ali wrote to them then to return back but they insisted not to until he admit being apostasy for accepting the arbitration ,he wrote to them again and send it with messenger who almost was to be killed by them and they declare it that who does not accept their believes will be apostate and his blood family and money will be bloodshed, when Khabab bin Abdullah bin Al-Art and his pregnant concubine Passed their area and he was the ruler of Ali in that countries , they killed him and rip open the abdomen of the concubine ,and when this action reached to Ali then went out against them with an Army he prepared to Syria and overthrew them at an Nahrawan. This is a summary of their beginning. Then who was lift of them joined the remains and stayed disappearing during Ali succession until Abdulrahman bin Mlgem who is one of them killed Ali when he was in the Morning Prayer. Then when the reconciliation between Al- Hassan and Mu'awiyah a group of them rebel against muslims and they were defeated by the Syrian Army in Alnigelah , and stayed in suppression when Ziyad and his son Obaidullah were rulers on Iraq and all the period of Muawiyah and his son
Yazeed as Caliphate. Ziad and his son triumph over a group of them killed some and jailed the other. When Yazeed died and Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubair took over the Muslims Succession he was obeyed by countries except some of The Levant people when Marwan carried out a revolution against him and claimed the Succession and followed by The Levant people and Egyptian when Alkhwarij appeared in Iraq with Nafi Ben AlAzraq and in ALYamamah with Najda Bin Amer who added to the believes of AlKhawarij that who did not come out and fight the Muslims he will be considered an infidel, bad consequences continued to them also their corruption , they added to their wrong Beliefs & Faiths the revoke of stoning the married woman , and the Cut off the thief's hand from the armpit and the obligation of the prayers for the woman who is menstruating , and declare the infidelity of whom leaves the Promotion of Virtue and Prevent The evil and the atrocity if he was able to do, and if is not able of this as if he made a great sins and considered Kafir - a disbeliever in Allah. And they stopped collecting Jiziyah- A Protection fee- A tax taken from non-Muslims living in a Muslim state to protect them. And start killing and stealing who belonged to Islam.
They still on their bad actions and evil results until Al-Muhallab bin Abi Alsufra gave an order to fight them until they were defeated and little of this group scattered between countries in the Umayyad and Abbasid state also a few of them entered Morocco. The words of Ibn Hajar ended.
I said: This is the summary of what happened in fitna. As we are not allowed to talk more in what violates the rules of the authentic legitimacy, as our prophet Muhammad, left us on a clear path as said in The Book of the Sunnah , Sunan Ibn Majah in Hadith No.44 , and Sunan Abi Dawud » Book of Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah) No. 4607
Narrated Irbad ibn Sariyah :
AbdurRahman ibn Amr as-Sulami and Hujr ibn Hujr said: We came to Irbad ibn Sariyah who was among those about whom the following verse was revealed: "Nor (is there blame) on those who come to thee to be provided with mounts, and when thou saidst: "I can find no mounts for you."
We greeted him and said: We have come to see you to give healing and obtain benefit from you.
Al-Irbad said: One day the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led us in prayer, then faced us and gave us a lengthy exhortation at which the eyes shed tears and the hearts were afraid.
A man said: Messenger of Allah! It seems as if it were a farewell exhortation, so what injunction do you give us?
He then said: I enjoin you to fear Allah, and to hear and obey even if it be an Abyssinian slave, for those of you who live after me will see great disagreement. You must then follow my sunnah and that of the rightly-guided caliphs. Hold to it and stick fast to it. Avoid novelties, for every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error.
Grade : Sahih (AL-Bani )(A)
I said : in this Hadith a statement of the cause and the purpose for the reason why our prophet Muhammad, have talked about the previous Fitna and other seditions such as ALDajal (charlatan ) , the moving creature on earth and …that means that the truth is clear when we refer to the rules and basics, Even many of the Companions who were confused by the Ali and Aysha fitna was appeared to them clearly the aggressor group after the killing of Amar Bin Yasser as his murder was a strong jolt of faith to Muawiya Companions and confirmation to Ali may Allah be pleased with him and his companions , The Prophet recommended in the previous Hadith in two matters to stay away from Sedition, aberration and misguidance as the following :
Introduction:
A . ( I am leaving you upon something like Bayda (white, bright, clear path) the night and day of which are the same.'")). The Prophet left the Muslims in general till the Day of Resurrection on a clear evidence as the white page. Said in Bulugh al-amani : he means the” Milli Alhanifip” the Islamic Milli . And White means purely clear phenomenon free from doubt and suspicion. end (B) In the narration of the (White mahga) the clear path.
Ibn Athir said : Al-Mahga is the Parkway having its metre tested by reading with the emphasis on its rhythm from Haj word with extraletter M and the plural of it is Mahaj (C)
B . (No one will deviate from it after I am gone but one who is doomed) and who has decline from or deviated from what our prophet Muhammad , has cleared it to us. He for sure has fallen into perdition and misguidance.
C . ( Whoever among you lives will see great conflict) our prophet Muhammad, . Said in this Hadith and others about Alfitna , we have outdone some of it that shows difference between what it was in our prophet Muhammad, time and what became vested in after him from Fitna and the disagreement between some of the prophet senior companions and the disagreement with the misguided parties that started with AlKhawarij .
First commandment:
-
( I urge you to adhere to what you know of my Sunnah ) means be Committed to the prophet Sunnah and don’t exceed it to others .
-
(And the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs,) as they worked with the prophet sunnah ,they add to it the clear path for their knowledge of Sunnah ,or for their elicitation and choosing of sunnah . Said Mohammed Ben Allan Siddiqi Shafei (A) They are Abu Bakr , Umar , Othman , Ali and Hassan, Allah bless them all and the rest of prophet companions . What knew about them or some of them has the priority to be followed more than the rest of the Companions if a disagreement happened among them .
-
(And cling stubbornly to it.) Referred to the Sunnah which means the cranter . The biting refer to the intensity in sticking to AlSunnah of the prophet , as a person who wants to takes a bit will take it strong with his teeth . and the conservatism of the commandment come with patience over adversity. As the one who is suffering from pain and hiding it will tightens his teeth on each other.(B)
I say : The modern science has proven that the hardest bone in Human body are the teeth and the strongest muscles is the Jaw muscles, Hallowed be Allah; that is more stronger than catching by hands together .
Second commandment:
-
(And you must obey) and as narrated by Jami` at-Tirmidhi in Chapters on Knowledge No.2676 ('I order you to have Taqwa of Allah, and to listen and obey, ) he combined between both of it Confirming in taking care of this context , and then focusing on it in mentioning the conjunction to it on what it includes which is ALTaqwa - The love and fear that a Muslim feels for Allah- it is the conjunction from the private to public for more interest, and its properly a way of contrast conjunction as (Showing the purposes of Taqwa ) which indicates the organization of the Hereafter matters ,and (ALEmamah – leadership and authority ) which indicates the organization of the Secularism matters. Ali may Allah be pleased with him said: The people will not amend ed except with a fair or a licentious Imam (Leader ) . ©
The best of what who wrote in this subject was Ibn Hazm who said: the individual mistake is better in managing matters than the group correctness that would not be collected by one.
As individual mistake in this, can be averted and the correction of the group may lead to being used on the sustainability of negligence that lead to perdition (A)
-
(even if (your leader is) an Abyssinian leader) Al-Hafiz AlMubaarakfoori said: if you lead by an Abyssinian slave as narrated by AlNawawi : which means if your president or leader is the lowest of the humanity do not reject or hesitate in obeying him to avoid the sedition….AlKhatabi said: it means he wanted to say that the obedience is obligated on us if the Imam have hired a ruler on us even if this ruler is a slave form Ethiopia (Habashi ) but does not means that the ruler must be an Ethiopian Habashi slave . It has been proven by Muhammad, . Hadith that he said that (Imam should be from Quraish) , they may set an example of the thing that is hardly right to exist as Muhammad, said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." A sparrow's nest would not be a mosque for a human being and the isotopes of this are many to speak. (B).
-
(For the true believer is like a camel with a ring in its nose; wherever it is driven, it complies.) This concept is detailed in the Hadith that was narrated by Oqaili in his book ( The weak ) No.842 Narrated Ibn Omar that Muhammad, . Said : Allah Believers are easy and soft like the domesticated camel , when you lead it will be tow , and if driven he will be drift ,and if you kneeled him down on a rock will kneel . ©
In other narration they said (with conceitedness ) .Ibn Athir said (ALMa’anoof ) which is the animal with nose that was injured by insects and feeling pain when his master command, it will obey directly without thinking as the pain is hard (D)
I said: Our prophet Muhammad, emphasized on the necessity for the believer to obey his superior and docility his orders. (As the obeying not in a sin, as decided by Scholars of language and religion) which is represented in this case as the camel (Obedient to all what his owner asks him to do even if his owner kneeled him down to a rock) with no doubt that this example pays off its benefits if it match the exemplifier environment which exactly what happened in this case.
I said: some, tried to encroach upon our prophet companions, hurting them, ignoring what our prophet Muhammad, said about their virtues in Quran and sunnah . Ibn Taymiyyah Shikh Al-Islam said: The (Sunnah ) people all agreed on the justice of the kindred , and they have in the correcting and the faulting of our companions and others doctrines . As (first) of it, that Ali was only right in his actions and decisions. The (Second) says that everyone was correct in their actions. The (Third) there is no one correct in specific. The (Fourth) avoid going in to what happened among them .knowing that Ali and his companions deserve to be more authentic in the war of the Levant. Many Hadiths indicated that the camel battle was fitna and avoiding the fight was better in that case, as our ancestors said a lot in this subject.
Imam Qurtubi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Some have asked the (Predecessor) for bloodshed among them (the Companions) and answered: That was a nation who has passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned and you of what you earn. And you will not be asked of what they used to do.
Also others were asked on the same matter and said: that was a blood Allah purified my hands from, I won’t Dye my tongue with . That means avoiding falling into the error, and judging someone by mistake.
Ibn Furyk said: from our companions who said: the conflicts that happened between the companions similar to what happened with Prophet Joseph and his brothers. As they did not get out much of the authority – the political control- and the prophecy. Al-Hasan al-Basri was asked about their fight and said: a fight witnessed by the companions of Muhammad and we were absent, they knew and we ignored, they Gathered and we followed, they differed and we stopped. (A) .
Imam Abdullah ibn Mubarak when asked about the Fitna between Ali and Muawiya may Allah be pleased with them he said: Fitna may Allah protect our swords from, so we have to protect our tongues from involving in it. (B) .
The rule in here, as aforementioned by bin Said Musayyib when he was asked about the Fitna and the murder of Othman and said: Othman was killed wrongfully, and who killed him was unjust. And who let down him was excused. And Allah only knows with which party any one of us will belong to ,if we were among them, Even if we were in the era of the Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) with who will be the Believers, the unbelievers or the hypocrites.
Imagine my dear brother if someone read our history a hundred years to come, where will your position will be?! With the goodness and its people or otherwise?! No one knows except Allah then yourself in your body.
Note: for further reading in this matter properly , and who wants an acronym and concentrated reading he must refer to Ibn al- Arabi book Alawasem mn AlQawasim ,it’s a rich book with adequacy. And who wants the prolongation and details must refer to the book of Dr. Mohamed Omahzon (Tahqeq Mawaqef AlSahabah Fe AlFitnah ) .
(6) ( Tarikh AlKhulafa –Caliphs Suyuti 9) (Alsira Alnabaweia w akhbar Alkholafa 553 ) .
(7) After Al-Hassan bin Ali bin Abi Talib, May Allah be pleased with them, was assumed the caliphate after the assignation of his father, who handed it over to Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan may Allah be pleased with him (the Calipha history 188 ) in the 25th of Raby' al- Awal, 41 A.H. (Alsira Alnabaweia w akhbar Alkholafa 554 ). His caliphate lasted for 6 months ( The Completed History 3 / 267-273). ( Tarikh AlKhulafa –Caliphs Suyuti 192) some said: seven months and seven days (Tarikh Khalifa Bin Khayat 203 ). He died in the year 49 A.H. ( The Completed History 3 / 315) ( Tarikh AlKhulafa –Caliphs Suyuti 192) (Tarikh Khalifa Bin Khayat 203).
(A) Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went to Fatima's house but did not find `Ali there. So he asked, "Where is your cousin?" She replied, "There was something between us and he got angry with me and went out. He did not sleep (midday nap) in the house." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked a person to look for him. That person came and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! He (Ali) is sleeping in the mosque." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went there and `Ali was lying. His upper body cover had fallen down to one side of his body and he was covered with dust. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) started cleaning the dust from him saying: "Get up! O Aba Turab. Get up! O Aba Turab (literally means: O father of dust).
(B) I say that Ali may Allah be pleased with him did not reject the issue of revenging the killing of Othman but he thought that there is a difference between pledging the allegiance to him and requesting the killers of Othman. So if you nailed them send them to me for trueness judgment. And the trueness cannot be stated as killing for every one participated in the killing process, as there is difference between acted the killing and who is suspected.
