-Muhammad is the messenger of God. He sent him with guidance and the true religion to reveal it to all religions even if the polytheists abhor it.
(1) He is Al Muhtadi b'i'llah, The good Caliph, Muhammad Abu Ishak, called also Abu A'bdu'llah, the son of al Wathik, the son of al Mua'tasim, the son of ar Rashid B.Muhammad ALMahdi b.ALMansur ALAbbasi.
(2) He was acknowledged Caliph on Wednesday the 29th of Rajab, 255a.h (albedaia w alnehaia 11/2)(the completed history 6/102). And was deposited in the 15th of Rajab, 256a.h and died in Rajab the 18th in the year 256a.h (albedaia w alnehaia 11/22)(the completed history 6/220).
(3) Thus his Caliphate lasted one year all but five days (albedaia w alnehaia 11/22) and said eleven days or fifteen days.||( (the completed history 6/223).
(4) (The completed history 6/223).
(5) Ibn Al-Athir said: Al Muhtadi was of a light tawny complexion, comely of countenance, chaste, pious, just firm in carrying out the commands of Allah, intrepid. Abdullah bin AlEskafi Said: The Caliph was seated in the Hall of Justice
When a man came to him complaining about the caliph son, the caliph called both of them to judge in-between. The man then told Al-Muhtadi : O ye prince of faithful you are as the poet said :
حكمتموه قاضياً بينكم أبلج مثل القمر الزاهر
لا يقبل الرشوة في حكمه ولا يبالي غبن الخاسر
You judged him after you* bright as the bloomy moon
Does not accept Bribery in his judgment * does not care about the losers deceit
AlMuhtadi replied: You said well o ye man, for me I always remember when Allah said in his holy Quran “”And We shall set up balances of justice on the Day of Resurrection ””said : I never saw people crying as much as that day.
Hashim-b-u'l Kasim relates as follows: I was once in presence of al Muhtadi one evening in the Ramadan, when I started up to depart, but he said “sit down," and I sat down, and he advanced and prayed before us. Then he called for food, and an earthen vessel was brought in which were round flat cakes of white bread, and on it were vessels in which were salt, vinegar and olive-oil. He invited me to eat. I began to eat, thinking that they would presently bring the viands, but he looked at me and said, “dost thou not fast?" I replied, “Yes." He continued, “hast thou not the intentions of fasting?" I answered, "how not! since it is Ramadan !" He said, “eat and satisfy thyself, for there is no other food than what thou sees here." I was astonished, and after a little I exclaimed,
“and why, O prince of the Faithful ? for the Lord hath given thee amply of his benefits !" He replied, “verily the thing is as thou sayest, but I considered that there was indeed among the Band Umayya, Omar-b-A'bdil A'ziz, and he lived on scanty food and poorly as thou hast heard, therefore I was jealous for the Banu Hashim, and I adopted the life thou dost witness."
Ibrahim bin Mukhlad b.Mohammed Bin Arfa said that Niftawayh narrated as follows: " One of the Hashimites told me that he found in al Muhtadi's possession a coffer containing a woollen tunic and a coarse garment which he used to wear at night and pray in. He put down all wanton pastimes and forbade singing, and checked the oppression of the Regent's myrmidons.
