القادر بالله أحمد بن المقتدر

(1) Al-KDDIR BI'LLALH AHMID B.ALMUQTADIR

(2) 381-422

أَعَزَّ لِلدِّيْنِ بِطِيْـبِ المُعْتَقَدْ(3)

ثمَّ ثمَانُونَ وَسِتٌّ عُمْرُهُ سُبْحَانَ

مَنْ بمَا يَشَاءُ قَدْ قَضَىْ

وَاسْتَخْلَفُوْا القَادِرَ بَعْدَهُ وَقَدْ

إِحْدَى وَأَرْبَعِينَ دَامَ عَهْدُهُ(4)

وَعَشْرَةٌ مِنَ الشُّهُوْرِ فَقَضَىْ(5)

Obv.

There is no diety except
(the one) God alone
He has no equal

-In The Name of God. This dirham was struck in Nishapur in the year ten and four hundred.

-To God is the will before and after and on that day the believers shall rejoice in God's victory

-Muhammad is the messenger of God. He sent him with guidance and the true religion to reveal it to all religions even if the polytheists abhor it.

(1) He is Abu Abbas Ahmid bin Al-Amir bin Ishaq bin Jaafar bin Muqtadir Bin Ahmed al-Mu'tadid Bin Talha Al-Muwafaq bin Jaafar al-Mutawakkil bin Mohammed Mu'tasim son of Harun al-Rashid bin Mohammed Mehdi Ben Mansour Al-Abbasi.

(2) He was acknowledged Caliph on the abdication of his brother, being then absent, but he arrived on the 20th of Shawal, 381a.h (albedaia w alnehaia 11/309) and gave public audience the next day and received congratulations. And said in the 12th of Ramadhan (the completed history 7/450) . He died in Sunday night the 11th of Dul ALHijjah 422a.h (albedaia w alnehaia 12/31) (the completed history 8/197).

(3) Ibn Kathir said: al-Kadir was distinguished for his rectitude and nobility of character, for long watching and much alms-giving, and an admirable course of conduct in accordance with the accounts reported of him.

(4) He composed a treatise on the fundamental principles of faith in which he introduced the merits of the Companions and accused the Mua'tazalites and those who maintained the creation of the Quran of impiety. This work used to be read every Friday, in an assembly of traditionists in the mosque of al Mahdi, and in presence of the people.(albedaia w alnehaia 11/309) (the completed history 8/196).
